Twill Textiles was born out of a shared fascination with the traditional art of handweaving. Suzanne Lovell, principal of Chicago-based interior design firm
Suzanne Lovell, Inc. and Sam Kasten, one of America's foremost handweavers of custom textiles and founder of
Sam Kasten Handweaver, pooled their respective talents to create this unique textile company.
Twill's inspiration stems from our founding design philosophy: each new collection offers a refreshing, distinct design profile, while maintaining the integrity and inspiration of Sam's original handwoven designs. Whether an archival pattern is directly interpreted for machine looms, or we focus in on a design detail, the heart and soul of handweaving is always evident.
A palette of warm, nature inspired hues is the backbone of each of our collections, enlivened and enriched by seasonal introductions of vibrant accents and saturated new colors taken from the surrounding beauty of the Berkshires, the home of Sam Kasten. Produced on machine looms, our classic linen stripes, silk diamonds and refined checks juxtapose lofty boucles, subtle graphics, and exotic snakeskin prints - presenting collections as dynamic as they are elegant.
Long before "green" became main stream, Twill addressed this vital issue with the
Climatex® Lifecycle Home Collection, a line of luxurious, sustainable eco-friendly fabrics designed specifically for the home. Through innovative technology and thoughtful production techniques, the Climatex collection is safe for the environment and fully sustainable.
We invite you to browse through our collection and discover the beauty of Twill Textiles.
